Early career mathematics teachers: Concepts,methods, and strategies for comparative international research

In this article, we report on the challenges entailed in the development of concepts, methods, and strategies for designing and implementing a cross-national research study of the first-years of school-mathematics teaching, including an exploration of how beginning mathematics teachers differ in their preparation, knowledge for teaching, teaching practice, working conditions, and pupil characteristics. The study was designed as a proof-of-concept for a study of teaching and teacher education to be implemented by educationalists, teacher educators, and early career teachers as an ongoing professional endeavor. 我国学校体育场地建设效率研究

基于第六次全国体育场地普查基础数据，运用数据包络分析法，对我国学校体育场地建设效率进行研究。结果显示：在样本期内，学校体育场地建设的综合技术效率均值为0.606、纯技术效率均值为0.758、规模效率均值为0.787，较之DEA最优值1，我国学校体育场地的建设效率不高；以非DEA有效为标准，从综合技术效率看，学校体育场地建设效率呈现东部高于西部、西部高于中部地区的态势，场地建设投入决策单元的整体效率水平不高；从纯技术效率看，体育场地建设效率呈现西部高于东部、东部高于中部地区的态势，场地建设投入要素的管理和技术水平有较大提升空间；从规模效率看，体育场地建设效率呈现与综合技术效率同样的态势，且全国有23个省体育场地建设处于规模效益递减状态，场地建设投入资源的配置效率不高。分析表明我国学校体育场地建设效率低的原因主要在于场地建设投入资金的结构不合理、区域间体育资源的配置不合理、体育用地开发利用的"二维平面延展"局限性等。建议：在财政经费投入上采用差异化的财政投入政策，在区域性资源配置上合理配置区域间学校体育场地建设投入资源，在土地资源开发利用上注重学校体育用地的"三维立体化"开发等举措，以提高我国学校体育场地的建设效率。  相似文献

Towards a Framework for Evaluating the Research Performance of Chinese Double First-Class Universities

The study focuses on the research performance of Double First-Class (DFC) universities in China. A theoretical framework based on economic theory and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for a novel evaluation model is proposed. The model is performed on a sample of 41 participant DFC universities in China. Using data collected from these universities, it was found that there is no consistency between performance ranking, input ranking, and output ranking, with the best ranked universities far from the most efficient. These findings provide empirical evidence of DFC universities’ research performance situation and suggest strategies that the government can use to propel their sustainable development.  相似文献   

Uncharted territory and extraordinary times: the SENCo's experiences of leading special education during a pandemic in England

This research focuses on the impact of the context of Covid-19 on the role of the SENCo in English schools. The SENCo's role is a contested field; however, the current Special Educational Needs Code of Practice identifies 11 key areas of SENCos' work. A widely distributed survey was used to access the voice of SENCos across the country, and received 26 responses. Data were analysed using a realistic evaluation framework to identify the impact of Covid-19 on the work of the SENCo. The research indicated that practice in this context had changed in some key areas, and also identified three new aspects of the SENCo role. These point to the need to revise policy and guidance relating to the SENCo being part of the senior leadership team, providing emotional support for adults, and engaging in practical pedagogical activities.  相似文献   

Utilizing program theory and contribution analysis to evaluate the development of science teacher leaders

This paper illustrates how theory of change coupled with contribution analysis assisted in delineating the role each aspect of a teacher professional development program contributed to the expected outcomes. Using a mixed methods evaluation based upon the theory of change, data was gathered on 12 teacher leaders over three years. Findings indicated that not only did the teachers continue to develop as leaders over the three year project but also that the interventions designed to provide professional development to the teachers did indeed contribute to the attainment of project outcomes. By combining stakeholders’ theory of change with contribution analysis, evaluators can develop an understanding of program intentions and design an evaluation that enhances the validity of findings.  相似文献
